(Free Online) Cloud Atlas By David Mitchell – Best Novel

A rare beauty in the world of novels is presented here by David Mitchell; one thing should be made very clear before the start of this novel i.e not for armatures. Children or people who try to listen to such stuff as their first experience of an audio book usually get disappointed because their minds are never ready for things like this. Absorbing such material and then understanding it is like completing an impossible mission for most people.

The list of narrators including Scott Brick, Kim Mai Guest, Kirby Heyborne, Richard Matthews, John Lee and Cassandra Campbell tell the tale that it was not a book that could be handled by just one narrator.

There are multiple characters that are on the voyage together and then the tale is not just one simple one. The book is a collection of six stories that combine after the end of the last story.

The main character keeps the listener engaged and each story is like travelling into an entirely new world with different circumstances and time zones. Slade House and The Bone Clocks were tricky in understanding but this one is trickier. Characters like Adam Ewing remain in the memory forever, his struggle during the time when his ship needed repairs and then when he is infected by a horrible illness show different temperaments of a man.

Then all the stories are not on the same topic and the pattern of the story telling is different for example the second story comes to us in the form of letters that are read as the story is revealed. All stories are also linked somehow and leaving anyone for time saving will make the listener lose all the fun.
