For the FBI agent, Mercy Kilpatrick, returning to Oregon means to come to terms with her ancestral roots. Mercy was raised as a prepper and she is heavily relying on her survivalist instincts. She needed that to defend her home town from the people who she cannot approach. An investigation this time would be to get her dark past exposed. On the other side. Truman Daly, the police chief might be thumping too close to home.

A rainstorm happened and it uncovered as many as five dead bodies in one night. It was a recap of the distinctive slaughter of a couple of families. It happened a couple of decades ago.
