Every nation in the world of today has specially trained agents which work secretly for the safety of the nation. These men remain unknown to the outside world because their identities are kept in a safe cover so that it can be erased at the time of need. Robie is one of those terminators who work for the American government secretly. Targets are given to Robie as assignments and he fulfills them without any question or investigation. He just obeys the government orders without raising any question or objection against it.
For once in his life, his mind does not agree to a certain order and he thinks he just cannot pull that job. Saying no to the job was easy but bearing the consequences was tough for him. His department turns against him as he becomes a threat to all those whom he used to support or obey. David Baldacci makes the hero go solo this time during which he meets a little teenage girl.
A teenage girl was stranded by everyone around and her parents were murdered long ago. Robie helps the girl a little and then he gets connected to her for some special reasons. This is the start that leads to The Hit and The Target further, all the parts of this series are full of surprises and hidden agendas of hidden cults that are not known to the world. Ron McLary’s voice was not ample for all of the characters in the series so Orlagh Cassidy also joins him in the narrator’s job. The author didn’t keep a lot for the ending chapter except for the action; all of the mysteries get decided in the climax section.
