The story follows Rachel, a 20 year old Jewish girl who still lives with her Jewish family, she meets Oz at a Hanukkah party and falls in love instantly. Unfortunately, she does everything to her gorgeous best friend Tamara, and once Tamara meets Oz, they fight too. Rachel stepped back and let her best friend get the man of her dreams, never telling anyone about her feelings for him – this developed into a heavy obsession over the next year. there.

A year later, Tamara broke up with Oz and went on vacation to Bali, shortly after Oz broke his leg. Curiously, Tamara tells Rachel that she wants her to stay with Oz to take care of him because he’s both injured and heartbroken. Oz, meanwhile, begs copywriter Rachel to help him write love letters to win Tamara back. Rachel writes her own diary as a resource, and gives Oz what she has written about him, which she then sends to Tamara. It’s a rather complicated premise, but hardly important… what’s important is the emotional experience of the characters that follow.
