Killing Monica By: Candace Bushnell – Audiobook Online

Killing Monica is a literary fiction book by author Candace Bushnell.

In Killing, Monica Bushnell spoofs and cuts through popular culture, worshiping the celebrity. Fame and even the meaning of life when a famous writer must resort to his own fake death to regain life from his most infamous work – Monica. Killing Monica is Bushnell’s sharpest, funniest book to date.

The idea intrigued me – how to kill Monica, the creativity of which turned the main character into a famous author. All the while, I wondered if Miss Bushnell would want to kill Carrie Bradshaw if she could. Does it understand or bite the hand to feed? The supporting characters are likable and I love it because it’s set in the present and two separate flashbacks (the history and demise of her best friendship as well as the history and demise of her life. her marriage). I was perfectly ready to write a three-star review and suggest reading it with a glass of champagne, but then…

…Multiple Sclerosis. Bushnell outraged the entire transgender community by allowing his “missing” sister to eventually become Henry, the current manager and agent. Pandy/PJ keeps hinting at her sister’s disappearance, making me think she’s dead or cut off contact or didn’t even exist! In fact, her older sister identifies as male and goes by the name Henry.
