Married by Morning/ Hathaways, Book 4

Married by Morning is the fourth literary fiction book in the Hathaways series by author Lisa Kleypas.
Sparks fly and passion burns between two reluctant lovers who must overcome past pain to find happiness in this fine novel.

Hired as a companion to the Hathaway sisters, Catherine Marks has built a new life for herself, freed from a dark past. She admires her interesting charges. The vibrant Hathaways were the closest Cat had ever had in a family of her own. Everything is perfect – except for Leo Hathaway, the girls’ charming and extremely exasperated brother, who distracts her. As their heated exchange broke out in an unexpected kiss, Cat could no longer deny the strong attraction between them – or the thrill of Leo making a shocking proposal to her.

To save his family’s home, Leo must marry and give birth to an heir. The cai luong locust swore never to love again after tragedy broke his heart. Serious and dignified Cat challenges him in surprising ways, and her beauty and stern demeanor fuel a lust he can’t control. With the secrets that Cat tries to overcome that threatens to separate them forever, Leo and Cat must find a way to banish the ghosts of the past in order to build a future together.

Married by Morning is a book I can’t wait to read because I love the glimpses of Leo, Ms Marks or Catherine we get, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s well written, with humor but also some tearful moments, for good and bad reasons.

I also enjoyed this book as we learned more about the characters previously seen in other Hathaway series, especially Poppy and her husband, whose book is my most favorite Hathaway book from so far! While I won’t divulge the plot – as I personally find it frustrating in reviews – the burgeoning relationship between Leo and Catherine is beautiful but learning more about each other’s pasts and overcoming Through them have made the book and the characters much richer.
