Leipzig, Germany in the 1930s.

Hetty Heinrich was a large young girl under Nazi rule. With an SS officer father, a brother in the Luftwaffe and a member of the BDM, Hetty was the epitome of the perfect German child. But Walter changed everything.

Walter has blond hair, blue eyes, perfect in every way. The boy saved her life. A Jew. As she grows more and more in love with a man who goes against everything she was taught, Hetty begins to question everything. Will the steady march of dark forces destroy their world, or can love eventually win?

Perfect for fans of The Tattooist of Auschwitz, The Book Thief and Kate Furnivall.

Well written and the narration is excellent. I feel the emotions that reach to the bottom of my heart, take my breath away… A beautiful and tragic love story but not just a love story. It is much more than that. This book will stay with me for a very long time…
