Phreaks is the story of a fractured family struggling to redefine itself as the rapidly changing world around it. Its characters struggle with the same issues that define us today: privacy and surveillance, misuse of personal data, ownership of ideas, their centuries-long obsession We’re with phones and that longing for community is what has driven us, since the dawn of time, to look for new ways to “reach out and touch someone”.
1970. Emma Gable, a blind teenager approaching adulthood in a small industrial town in Western New York, is far from the seismic cultural shifts that have rocked schools and streets across America. one can come. But when a fateful call connects her to a mysterious group of primitive hackers calling themselves “Phone Phreaks”, revolution has arrived, changing Emma’s life forever. Because, Bell Telephone, the largest corporation in the world, is not amused when a handful of teenagers suddenly take control of their vast and lucrative network and bend it to their will.
Taking down the Phreaks is the number one priority for the Goliath company, but for Bell Security agent Bill Connolly, the campaign becomes personal as he struggles to outwit and outmaneuver the enemies that always seem to be ahead of him. I one step.
This is an absurd waste of time. What did I have to endure? It took me too long to listen, because I simply couldn’t have the energy to care about any of it.
Each character, and I am talking about each of them, will switch to another character and start arguing. It’s hard to understand how bitter these characters are to everyone.
The main character, Emma, is written to be blind. Alright? That had little to do with anything until the end and even then it was dropped. She started out as an entitled child and hasn’t progressed much since then.
Carrie Coon is an extraordinary talent and she has been wasted. Christain Slater plays another version of himself. Ben McKenzie was in here. I guess it’s something. He’s good, he’s always reliable.
