Realmslayer – Audiobook Online

Realmslayer – Gotrek Gurnisson, Book 1, Audiobook Online By: David Guymer

Realmslayer is the most exciting project I’ve worked on in years, and playing Gotrek magically ignited my imagination. He possesses immense courage and imagination, and is completely fearless – stronger than any hero in literature and history.

What a challenge! It’s like playing ten King Lears at once! He will live forever.

(Brian Bless, voice of Gotrek Gurnisson in Realmslayer)

Gotrek Gurnisson was the greatest monster slayer of the time, who met his fate at the End Ages. The heroic Duardin enters the Realm of Chaos to battle the goblins that are gnawing the world’s apocalypse and fulfill his death oath, leaving behind his companion Felix Jaeger.

Now Gotrek is back, outliving the old gods and the Old World. Spit out from the depths of ruin with redemption unfinished, he entered the Mortal Realm, a strange new world where gods walked the earth and dark forces were on the throne. Nothing is as he remembers. His oath is dust, and the lands are torn by Chaos.

However, when Gotrek learns of human champions being raised to immortality for Sigmar to fight against this darkness, the so-called ‘Stormcast Eternals’, he knows why fate has brought him here this new era. To find Felix. For only then can he find the peace in death he seeks. But is there much about Gotrek’s apotheosis that even he can’t understand? Was he really chosen by Grimnir and for what purpose?

I was a bit confused and listened to these two audio dramas out of order. I will go back and listen to the second one. Both are great. I’m glad to hear that Gotrek’s story is now continued in the Sigmar Age. Well worth it, and you’ll never be able to hear or read The Gotrek Story without hearing Brian Bless’s voice.

I’ve never fallen in love with a character as quickly as I fell in love with gotrek. This is my first gotrek story and I look forward to hearing the rest. Brian Bless is amazing and so is the rest of the cast. Johnathan Keeble will forever be my favorite storyteller whether 40k or Age of Sigmar!
