Rose Petal Graves (The Lost Clan Book 1) – Online Free

Rose Petal Graves is the best book in The Lost Clan series by author Olivia Wildenstein.
I’m not the type of girl who believes in fairy tales, much less fairy tales. That changed the day the fairy entered my life.

I had planned to leave my hometown by the lake, but my mother suddenly passed away. Dad said Mom had a stroke after digging one of the ancient Native American graves in our backyard.
Inside the old coffin there was no body, only fresh rose petals.

As we prepared for her burial, strange and terrifyingly beautiful people poured into my small town. A coroner with emerald eyes and dark hair, too young for the job. An arrogant blonde socialite who lives to get my skin. And a tattooed indigenous man who is said to be no longer alive.

In her death, my mother inadvertently revived the age-old feud between the fae and the tribe that hunted them down.

A feud is about to tear my world apart.

The beginning of the story is fascinating. The sudden death of Cat’s mother, the rose-filled grave, and the mysterious medical examiner with instant attraction between him and Cat. The best part, though, was the story that kept putting me on tiptoes. Nothing is what it seems, people are not what they say and new characters are often introduced with their own agenda and part to play, the latter have new unexpected parts . Enter Kajika with his past and connection to Cat… well, let’s just say the story has a lot of moving elements and I’m impressed that the story handles the moving and changing parts very well. Although, it didn’t handle it perfectly. Sometimes I feel that the actions and emotions of the characters are not really developed or natural as I would like.

The deaths of characters often make me cry when the story is good, and while the story is good, the emotional impact doesn’t really matter as it has so much going on that the characters have very little room. to grieve or process any other emotions such as hatred or betrayal. Sure, Cat hated Gwen for a second of her temper but then dumped it for no apparent reason.

Aside from the lack of emotional processing, this story is a roller coaster ride with twists and turns, to the point where the romance itself has become a mystery. On one hand, I’m a huge romance nerd so it’s a bit disappointing that it’s not as clear-cut as any romance story I’ve seen. On the other hand, all the potential pairing possibilities are really intriguing and I really don’t really know who I’m transporting, having read the story over and over. After finishing the book, I lean more towards Kaijka and Cat, but whoever the end goal is I think I’ll be happy anyway, it’s a great feeling to jump to the next book in set. The fingers pass that it holds the same level, if not better, as this one did.
