This is number 14 in the Lorimer series and I think they just keep getting better. Traumatized and painfully flashback after witnessing a particularly gruesome murder, Lorimer must attend Castlebrae, a facility that helps police officers recover from injuries, both physical and mental. While there, he watched a short news clip and recognized a face. It was the face of the man believed to be behind the Silent Release organization that ended the patient’s life in exchange for money from relatives. Lorimer had personal reasons for wanting to track down this elusive killer. He contacted DC Kirsty Wilson and asked her for help along with the help of his psychology friend, Professor Solly Brightman. Will the case be reopened?
In Glasgow, homeless and vulnerable men are dying from drug overdoses. But who is supplying them with premium heroin? In a fast-paced storyline involving corrupt cops, Glasgow crime bosses and elusive killers, the author weaves a gripping and engaging story. It’s fun to meet familiar characters and it’s interesting to see how the characters have developed over time and see their interactions with each other. And what a surprise ending! I can’t wait to see what happens next.
