Honestly, I think I held my breath throughout this book. Personally so familiar with the hatred and homophobia of religious fanatics, Connor’s story is a powerful piece of work that will impact everyone who reads it. I went on about how much I liked this book as it was the first book my boyfriend started reading in over 5 years and so far he loves it too.
This is an important book, not just for young LGBTQ people. For everyone and anyone. Well written, the story draws the reader into chaotic and terrifying events. There is satirical humor and hope throughout the story. This is an excellent debut novel. I expected more from this promising new author.
