Both astonishing and prophetic, The Abolition of Man remains one of C. S. Lewis’ most controversial works. Lewis set out to convince his audience of the continuing importance and relevance of universal objective values, such as courage and honor, as well as the fundamental necessity of natural law. He also makes a compelling case that withdrawing from these pillars of our education system, even in the name of “scientism,” would be a disaster.
