The Death of Mrs Westaway – Audiobook Online

The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware is a mystery novel that follows the story of Harriet “Hal” Westaway, a young woman struggling to make ends meet as a tarot reader on Brighton Pier. When Hal receives a letter informing her of a sizable inheritance from her supposed grandmother, Hester Westaway, she discovers that it’s a case of mistaken identity and decides to use her tarot-reading skills to perpetuate the fraud. However, when she arrives at the grand Westaway estate for the funeral, she realizes the danger of her plan and becomes embroiled in a sinister game of secrets and lies. As she uncovers the truth about her family’s past, Hal must confront both her own moral compass and the deadly consequences of her actions.

When Harriet Westaway received an unexpected letter announcing she had inherited a substantial will from her Cornish grandmother, it seemed to be the answer to her prayers. She’s indebted to a loan shark, and the threats are growing increasingly aggressive: she needs to get some cash quickly.

There’s just one problem – Hal’s real grandparents died over twenty years ago. The letter was sent to the wrong person. But Hal knows that the fortune-telling techniques she honed as a seaside fortune-teller could help her win money. If anyone had the skill to show up at a stranger’s funeral and claim an inheritance claim they weren’t entitled to, it was her.

Hal makes a choice that will change her life forever. But once she embarks on her deception, there is no turning back. She must move on or risk losing everything, even her life…

It took a little bit more to get into the story, but once it catches you, you dont want to put it down. Very good ending. Am enjoying all of Ruth’s books and look forward to her next one. The naration was excellent.
