It started as a simple search for a landscape designer.

I wanted a beautiful backyard for my new home, and my neighbors suggested that I consider the design and landscaping of the ward. The owner does not have his picture on his website. Just the portfolio of beautiful outdoor sitting areas, swimming pools and vibrant gardens I’ve always dreamed of.

Of course, I hired him. I was looking forward to meeting a normal guy, but Mr. Marcel Ward is far from your average man. He’s handsome and athletic and his smile – although a rare trait – is truly contagious. He’s every woman’s dream – an older, handsome man who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and dirty to create something beautiful simply because of his passion for it.

Unfortunately, that lucky woman can’t be me. Even though Mr. Ward tests my limits, makes me gasp and makes my heart skip a beat when he’s around, I promise to give my all for him.

This is a well written book. While the plot is a bit taboo, these things happen in life. Gabby felt a great responsibility to her family so she did what she thought she had to do. When she met Marcel, she questioned her choice. Just a good story with great narration.

The book is well written on an emotionally complex subject. Scott Rider is love. Lacy Laurel’s Gabby voice is amazing. Her male voice and “voice?” for Kyle is terrible. Even so, it’s worth tolerating the story.

This is great until the end. I knew Gabby’s husband Kyle was an abusive man by the way he talked to her and kept her away from family and friends. He wanted to be the only person in her life. When he grabbed her by the neck, I thought “There’s Kyle”. She should have planned to leave him alone at that time! No marriage is worth the violence, isolation, cursing and sex that lacks passion! Oaths must be broken when these factors come into play! Definitely worth reading.
