A Separate Peace – Online Audiobook by Author John Knowles.
Attentiveness; Great character development.
If you are looking for an exciting adventure story – this is not the one. But if you like hearing a slower story dealing with youth, peace and war, and the relationships of different personalities, this is a great book. It’s well-written, thought-provoking, and does a great job of painting emotions that most of us experience but rarely think about.
I love it!
This was one of my summer reading books in high school, and I had a hard time trying to read it in my head. Instead, I listened to it while reading the printed book.
I did notice that there were some wording changes in the narration, I don’t know if it was improvised by the narrator or my book, but it didn’t affect the plot in any way (eg. : when the word in my book is “giant” the narrator says “big,” such small things). But the difference is that the narrator has done a very good job of portraying the characters in general, as well as many levels of emotions in the novel.
As for the book review, it was very moving and I loved it. Text is a bit slow and confusing at times, but nothing too bad. I felt like I was there, right next to Gene and Finny… in a word, it was breathtaking! : EASY
