Bennett Mafia is a love story by author Tijan.
Carter Reed is one of my all time favorite books and he is one of my favorite characters, not just in Tijan’s books but in all books. But god crap Kai Bennett came along and nearly knocked my man off the top spot!
Kai is the head of the Mafia Bennett family. He is good at many things and he is someone who knows what he wants and how to get it. Riley is his younger sister, Brookes, a roommate at the boarding school. When Brooke goes missing, Kai will stop at nothing to get his sister back, and that means kidnapping someone who can help Brooke hide and go undetected. Sparks instantly flew when the two met for the first time in years, and the sparks continued to increase as they neared the end of the game. As certain things begin to be revealed to Riley, she must ask herself, can she change who she is to become the woman at Kai’s side? Or will she go back to her old life and forget all of Bennett together?
I sat at work all day and didn’t do actual work to finish this book. Tijan has a way with words that make her books hard to put down. This book has its dark sides but the romance also passes and you can’t help but root for Kai and Riley finding and being together. The way the story unfolds as you read, and the things you learn about the characters past and present, make for an amazing book that you won’t want to stop reading.
