(Free Online Audiobook) The Cuckoo’s Cry By Caroline Overington

At the time of pandemic stories about the scenario naturally grab your attention and you can just pick the book up after giving a glance to the world COVID-19. Caroline Overington talks about the pandemic but that is just the first step after which the story about the old man and the young girl starts.

The heaviness of the outside virus issue affects the two people present in the cottage but it is not that disastrous they have their personal devils to tame too. Novel has two big issues attached to it and both are luckily not about the story that the author knits.

Story is fine but most people feel it hard to believe that the old man allowed the girl to stay even when she was a stranger and there was virus issue outside which means she could be COIVD positive. Second problem is with the narration, the narration is crystal clear and no words slip from Aimee Horne’s grip but the problem is that the sound looks more American.

The novel takes place in Australia and the accent does not match the Australian style of delivering words. Now coming to the story it starts with two characters one of which is an approximately seventy year old man who has sealed himself in his cottage because of the virus.

The second in the teenage girl who comes to the cottage because she has nowhere else to go in these tough circumstances. But this is just the start after that real mysteries open themselves up and for a moment we forget that there is severe virus attacking the world outside the cottage.
