Just Between Friends – Audiobook Online

Just Between Friends is a literary fiction book by author Rosie Nixon.
A gripping tale of new friendships, motherhood, and heartbreaking secrets.

Aisha Moore is 8 months pregnant. She was nervous, and a little scared. Her husband, Jason, didn’t fully understand the truth.

Lucy is also about to have her first child. She got her wish – even though the circumstances weren’t quite what she expected. Oscar would be a great dad, wouldn’t he?

When the two women join a group of children, they quickly become friends and soon they are confiding in each other.

There was only one thing Lucy hadn’t told Aisha. When a baby can turn your life upside down, a big secret like this changes everything.

Bring back memories of pregnancy, anti-birth classes, and the competitiveness of Mom groups!
The book revolves around a wide variety of couples of all shapes and sizes, from gay couples and sperm donors in anti-birth class and beyond. Only this class has a parent to be with a secret. One secret can blow the whole group away.
I love the variety of characters in this story as well as the clues in the process leading up to the element of shock. Though I have to be honest, I guessed it halfway through the book. Once the secret is revealed, this book goes even further and tackles the issues surrounding what happens after trust is broken. I love the fact that the honesty about families comes in all shapes and sizes and the notion that it’s not the Father who makes the kid’s DNA but whoever cares and stays to make a difference difference in the child’s life.
