Lana’s War A Novel – Audiobook

Lana’s War is a literary fiction book by author Anita Abriel.
The touching and heartfelt story of a young woman recruited to work as a spy for the resistance on the French Riviera during World War II.
Paris 1943: Lana Antanova was on her way to meet her husband when she received the good news that she was pregnant. But when she arrives at the monastery where he teaches music, she is horrified to see Gestapo officers execute him for hiding a Jewish girl in the piano.

A few months later, grieving for both her husband and the miscarriage, Lana was shocked when she was asked to join the resistance in the French Riviera. The daughter of a Russian countess, Lana has the perfect background to infiltrate the émigré community of Russian aristocrats who associate with German officers, including the man who killed her husband. .

Lana’s cover story makes her the mistress of Guy Pascal, a wealthy Swiss industrialist and resistance member whose mansion in Cap Ferrat she lives in. Together, they gathered information about upcoming attacks and helped members of the Jewish community escape. Devoted to her work, she doesn’t expect to become attached to a young Jewish girl or wonder about the secrets of the man who shares her house. And as the Nazis’ deadly efforts increase, her intent to protect those around her may put them all in danger.

This is a book that missed the mark -It has no guts -I always tell my husband -who also writes-dig deeper – to a place where you can feel the hurt -and be honest and write from that place. This story had lots of potential-but its lacking depth -it glides across the surface -This young lady -likely needs more life experience -before she takes on something of this magnitude
