Longing for You is the second book in the Wild for You series by Jenny Frame.
Alexis Villiers’ best friend, Principe of the Debrek family, is newly bonded with Amelia, and Alexis hasn’t felt alone in centuries. The leader’s closest confidant, Alexis must confront her growing yearning for Debrek’s butler, Katie Brekman.
Katie is enjoying her new role as a butler for Debreks. What she has to worry about is the moody, hot-tempered Alexis. Katie doesn’t know why Alexis doesn’t like her so much. Why is she refusing to feed her? Amelia’s theory that Alexis is attracted to Katie cannot be true. Katie can’t imagine her showing any kind of emotion, let alone attraction.
Katie is attacked in the midst of a raging war between vampires and witches, and Alexis prepares to go against everything her clan believes in. Longing for Katie, she is torn between opening her heart to humans and abandoning her clan when they need her.
Jenny Frame’s vampire series is my favorite of her series. I know that might be a blasphemy to some die-hard fans of her Court series, but I guess I’m more drawn to the paranormal series.
This book is clearly the 2nd in the series, and it will be helpful if you’ve already read the first. Not just because you’ll enjoy it more, but because Byron and Amelia have some good scenes happening that continue so much of Amelia’s journey starting in book 1.
Also, be prepared for this section to end with a slight twist. I have to say, I’m also looking forward to the third book. It’s clear which two books it will focus on and I love it.
Just focusing on this book for now, I think it’s a great continuation. Alexis is a tough, stoic character that I love to watch melt away because of her love for Katie. Having said that, Katie is my favorite of the two. It’s nice to see her as a human and living in the vampire world, but most of all, the feeling of not being able to be with the one you love for so long because she’s human.
