One Lucky Bastard – Free Full Audiobook

One Lucky Bastard is an art book by author Sir Roger Moore.
In a career that spanned more than seven decades, Roger Moore was at the heart of Hollywood. Of course, he is an actor who has starred in films that made him famous around the world; but he’s also a prankster, prankster, and gossip. Despite the fact that he’s widely known as one of the best in the business, on and off screen he’s always up for some fun. In a superb anthology of true stories from his stellar career, Moore opens up about the film business, from Hollywood to Pinewood.

The quirky story of his own life and career, as well as those told to him by a host of stars and filmmakers, including Tony Curtis, Sean Connery, Frank Sinatra, Gregory Peck, Peter Sellers.

Most people will leave good things until the end of their book to keep people reading but Sir Roger does not. The first 45 pages of this book are filled with obscene stories about people he worked with and some with whom he did not, such as Joan Collins, Bette Davis, Lana Turner, Joan Crawford, Grace Kelly, Tallulah Bankhead but as you understand it’s not. Unflattering photo of the Royal Princess, stop reading. It’s all about him then, and to paraphrase what Peter Sellers said about seeing his likeness on screen, no one would want to read that.

Mainly because how much he loves working with Shelley Winters and Angie Dickinson it’s certainly a bit hard to believe. One of the many postscripts featured a scene between him and a passport control officer that wouldn’t have made it into an average person’s autobiography. The most amazing thing is the pictures, some of them in color and all of them gorgeous, there is even one of the pictures Queen Margrethe of Denmark is strangely tall in sweat.
