Phantom Prey/ Lucas Davenport, Book 18 – Online Free

Phantom Prey is the 18th book in the Lucas Davenport series by author John Sandford.
Lucas Davenport has seen disturbing cases before – but never like this one, in the New York Times bestselling author’s shocking new Prey.

This long-running series continues with another solid outing for Sandford’s Lucas Davenport. At his wife’s request, Davenport examines the case of a wealthy widow’s missing daughter. There’s also the follow-up of an intriguing gangster boss and a particularly nasty character to deal with. Other reviewers haven’t liked the main character moments in this book, but I disagree. In fact, they’re what makes everything more interesting, especially the scene where he’s trying to figure out what happened at the crime scene. I recommend starting at the beginning of the Prey series to get the most out of these top-notch police stories.

I am a huge fan of this series. I find time flies when I’m listening to a good detective novel. I like Sandford’s characters and Lucas seems to be an old friend.
I really don’t get any negative comments about Ferrone’s reading. I like his voice and personality. Those who say he can’t voice women… seriously? The guy has a deep baritone so I don’t know what to expect. His interpretation of the women in this book is very relevant if you ask me, so I guess it’s all a matter of opinion. If you like Sandford and the Prey seriously, don’t let the negatives about Ferrone put you off. I think he’s the perfect voice for the character.
