Poet Anderson …In Darkness – Audiobook Online

Poet Anderson…In Darkness is a beautiful book by author Tom DeLonge, Suzanne Young.
In The Awakened World, Jonas Anderson works as a doorman for the Eden Hotel, dividing his free time between seeing his girlfriend, Samantha Birnham-Wood, and visiting his comatose brother Alan. In Dream World, he is the Poet Anderson, a Dreamwalker, guardian of the Dream Scene tasked with protecting sleeping innocents from the nightmares that threaten both worlds.

Jonas is still tormented by his own nightmare – failing to rescue Alan from Dreamscape and free him from his coma. Together, Jonas and Alan fight side by side against the night terror entity known as REM. Though they defeated the ferocious monster, Alan continued to languish in his hospital bed while Jonas’ guilt corroded his soul.

REM may have lost a battle, but the fight goes on. His Night Stalker roams the Dreamscape, hunting down Jonas and other poets capable of traversing the realms of waking and dreaming. Demonic shadow beings possessing the souls of the dreamers and using their bodies to enter the Awakening World.

Jonas can no longer evade his fate. To save reality from a nightmare spiral, poet Anderson will have to sacrifice Dreamscape….

I really like In the Dark. I’m a pretty picky reader, but I like YA books when I want a quick read but have a good story. This book strikes the right balance of a quick read that’s fun to read.

I really enjoyed the pictures. It’s not overused, but it still has some great depth. The story is really something special. I hope this catches up for a movie to happen. It has all the elements that make up a pop culture hit without the eye-catching stereotypes that are so common in the genre. It also spends a fair amount of time recapitulating the first book instead of including awkwardly placed sentences throughout the book to remind you of what happened. It’s pretty seamless that way.
