Protected is a great second-chance romance from Lexi Blake. She’s always delivered excellent romantic suspense novels, and it’s great to finally get the final story from the bodyguards of her teleportation collection, Wade Rycroft.
One of my favorite things about Miss Blake’s stories is how strong and fierce her female characters are. Even when they’ve been through some of the most horrible things a human can go through, there’s always a glimmer of courage behind all the broken pieces, and Geneva is no exception in that pattern. . She is very aggressive, and I love her very much. She sacrificed everything she ever knew or wanted to protect those she loved, knowing she might never find any reward for her actions. Wade, when he finally learns that the life Geneva is living wasn’t her choice, it’s kindness and redemption. He’s everything I hoped he could be after what Geneva went through, and I’m happy to see him being so kind to her.
