I enjoyed “Race the Sands” by Sarah Beth Durst. When I started reading it, I was immediately hooked and couldn’t put the book down. This book has everything, the characters I’m interested in developing in the story, lots of action, a well-imagined world and a new fantasy concept. In the land of Becar, the culture is based on living to earn the karma necessary for a good rebirth in the next life. For the terrible people in life (murderers, thieves, traitors, etc.) to be reincarnated in monster form, there is no hope of future reincarnation to raise their souls to one level. better life.

But can a good man somehow be reincarnated by chance (or someone’s design) into a monster? The answer to this question ends up forming the crux of the story. I liked everything about this story, including how it was able to tell an interesting and satisfying story in one book, instead of the now-popular trilogy. I highly recommend this to other readers looking for something new in the fantasy genre.
