Ralph’s Party is an amusing, hilarious, well-written story about a group of 20/30 year olds who live near, or are somehow connected to, a London apartment complex. Their stories are quite amusing and told with a gentle wit. The main characters are Smith and Ralph, two roommates with a third addition, Jem, an eccentric and attractive young woman who believes it is her destiny to marry one of them.
This novel is a romantic comedy, of course she chose the wrong person at first, but eventually she saw the romantic truth (as well as the other characters in the novel), you guessed it. it, Ralph’s party. This book is a quick read, not taxing, but I really enjoyed it. I kept thinking it was going to be a great movie, as long as Hugh Grant somehow got the part. If you’re looking for a lighthearted, entertaining novel then Ralph’s Party is for you. Have fun.
