So You Had to Build a Time Machine – Online Free

So You Had to Build a Time Machine is a science fiction book by author Jason Offutt.
Skid doesn’t believe in ghosts or time travel or anything that makes no sense. As a circus getaway, she believes in hard work, self-defense, and good, strong coffee. Then, one day, a nasty theoretical physicist named Dave jumps into the chair next to her at her least favorite Kansas City bar and disappears into thin air as she punches him ( he totally deserves it).

Street names are changing, Skid’s favorite muffins are changing frosting flavors. Dave keeps reappearing in strange places like Sanderson’s old murder house.

And that was just the beginning of her problems. Something in the world has gone wrong. Terrible mistake. Completely f–ked up.

Someone has their hands on the worst versions of every conceivable reality, and they don’t mind slamming them together. With the help of a fluent haunted house owner and a baker who loves the human-sized Dungeons and Dragons in line, Skid and Dave set out to save the world from any kind of science experiment. made them jump through all the dimensions against their will.

Jason Offutt’s “So You Had To Build A Time Machine” made me laugh several times throughout. The book isn’t too serious; instead, it’s fun with its own whimsical plot and quirky characters. I really like the way the book paints by referencing books, movies, and TV shows. Instead of taking the time to say: a brown donut with pink topping and multicolored sprinkles, the description is “Homer Simpson donut.” There are countless descriptions like this that add creativity and vivid images.
There’s no time to waste getting caught in a dire dilemma for the entire universe with just characters who aren’t able to save the situation. Amid the rampant leaps and bounds between different realities, the book pays homage to science, referencing a number of scientific principles, theories, and institutions.
“Time Machine” takes you on a fun and unique adventure that I would recommend to anyone.

Great characters and crazy storyline befitting a book about an out-of-control time machine. The word paintings that Jason Oddity paints are marked with familiar references that bring you into the story. Great visuals throughout and interesting scenarios for some recurring events make it unreal.
