Someone Else Is Secret – Audiobook Online By: Julia Spiro

Here’s the thing about secrets: they change shape over time, becoming faint from memory, until the truth is almost lost.

2009. Lindsey and Georgie have high hopes for their summer in Martha’s Vineyard. In the wake of the recession, aspiring college graduate Lindsey accepts a job as a nanny for an influential family who could land her a spot in Boston’s exclusive art world. Georgie, the eldest of that family, is almost fifteen years old and eager to find herself again, dreaming of independence and yearning for her first love.

During that formative summer, the two young girls developed a close relationship. Then, one night by the lighthouse, a shocking act occurs that traps the two in a terrible secret. Their budding friendship was shattered, and no one could talk about what happened that night for ten long years.

Until now. Lindsey and Georgie must face the past after all this time. Their quest for justice will require costly sacrifices, but it can also give them the closure they need to move on. All they know for sure is that when the truth is revealed, their lives will forever change once again.

From a fresh voice in fiction, this poignant and timely novel explores the power and nuances of female friendship, the cost of ambition and the courage it takes to speak the truth.

This is a story you will have to read for yourself. It has a lot of elements that touch the emotions of the reader. The author of this book really does a good job of conveying the feelings of the girls/women in this story actually. Take time to read. Very important.

I enjoyed this story and the characters and how they interacted with each other. I think the narrator did a good job of each character and didn’t figure out the mother’s problem until the end of the book. It’s a good book by an author I’m not familiar with.
