Disappointment

Christine Feehan is one of my favorite authors & I have so far loved the Ghostwalker series. However… this book missed the mark by a long shot in my humble opinion & was very tough to get through. Besides constantly reiterating Trapp’s feelings, fears, & insecurities about his life and his woman, the entire book detailed their constant lovemaking sessions in exceptionally tedious detail and with so much “f…..ing” detail (his favorite word). The narrator is also one of my favorites & he did the best he could with the story he was given. Very little action in this story. I’m not sure if I will purchase anymore of the series.

Review 2: Spider Game audiobook by Amber

Not a fan of this one. Skip it and move to the next.

I’ve read/listened to all of the Ghost Walker series. But, I didn’t like this one. Sex scenes are a part of this series. And that’s cool. But, this book was more sex than story. It was tedious & I pretty much hate Trap. He didn’t redeem himself at all after being abusive to her. He’s a jerk. No excuse for him. And our heroine gives in too much. She can kill large numbers of targets/squads, but is stupidly weak as a person. Anyways. You can pretty much skip this book and move on. Won’t miss much. I was almost done with this whole series thanks to this book, but I did end up listening to the next one after this and it redeemed the Ghost Walkers for me. So, don’t stop before trying her next one. It gets better.

Review 3: Spider Game audiobook by Liz

Where is the Christine Feehan I know and love?

Let me first start off by saying I am a huge fan of hers and have read all her series. This is the first book she has written that I couldn’t finish. I couldn’t get past Traps awful personality and the way he treated Chey. My inner lioness was roaring for all women kind. It’s one thing to be dominated in the bedroom, that doesn’t mean you allow them to treat you like a doormat the rest of the time. Reading this book took me back to the time when the little women stayed at home patiently waiting for her big strong man.
Ugh!! How frustrating. It was men who thought and acted like this character that caused women to burn their bras and yell “Votes for Women!”

To the women that gave it 5 stars, I’m not sure we read the same book. It was repetitive on so many different things and the contradiction between how Trap “was” and how he actually “acted ” was distracting. This book did not really follow the usual GhostWalker arc and seemed to use the sex scenes and repetition as filler instead of actually having a story line.

I am hopeful that this was just a fluke and the next book will have the normal strong confident male character and the equally strong independent ” kick butt, I want you but I don’t need you ” female character.

I’m still a fan, and look forward to her next book.
