Kirsten Raymonde will never forget the night Arthur Leander, the famous Hollywood actor, suffered a heart attack on stage while producing King Lear. It was the night that a devastating flu pandemic hit the city, and within weeks, civilization as we knew it had come to an end.

Twenty years later, Kirsten moves between settlements of the changed world with a small group of actors and musicians. They call themselves The Traveling Symphony, and they dedicate themselves to keeping the remnants of art and humanity alive. But when it comes to St. Deborah by the Water, they encounter a violent prophet who will threaten the existence of the little band. If I were to pry about something that upsets me, I wouldn’t be fair to this book. It left me with many introspective moments. It’s a great read overall that makes you wonder what we’ve left behind and what’s most important.

Text, performance and exceptional story. Now one of my all time favorites. Super scary in 2020 with a gripping story – the right balance between action, mystery, romance, danger, desolate. It flows very well. I really enjoyed Miss Potter’s performance. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever heard, and I’ve heard quite a few books.
