Stories I Only Tell My Friends – Audiobook Online By: Rob Lowe

A surprisingly funny and moving account of an extraordinary life lived almost entirely in the public eye.

A teen idol at 15, an international icon and Brat Pack founder at age 20, and one of Hollywood’s top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences with as a painfully misunderstood Ohio child actor who was rooted in the wild counterculture of the middle class. -’70s Malibu, where he embarked on a relentless pursuit of a career in Hollywood.

The Outsiders placed Lowe at the birth of the modern youth movement in entertainment. During his time on The West Wing, he witnessed the surreal connection between show business and politics, both on set and in the actual White House. And in between are the ingenious and humorous stories of the wild excesses that marked the ’80s, leading up to his quest for family and sanity.

Never mean or obscene, Lowe offers unexpected glimpses of his successes, disappointments, relationships and one-of-a-kind encounters with the people who have shaped our worlds. us for the past 25 years. These stories are both interesting and unforgettable.

He is a great writer and storyteller. I love listening to his life’s journey and his growth. His stories are all from my generation. So many of his stories have made me stop and think… “I know where I was when that happened.” Many interesting inner stories. Love how he changes his voice for different characters! Now I want to go back and watch all his shows again.

I think hearing Rob read his own book makes his stories more relatable and engaging. I’m not sure I’ll enjoy the printed book as much – it seems a bit heavy-handed. However, reading Rob Lowe added warmth and humanity to his words.
