The German Aces Speak
- World War II Through the Eyes of Four of the Luftwaffe’s Most Important Commanders
- Narrated by: P.J. Ochlan
Few perspectives represent the drama and sacrifice of combat more perfectly than those of WWII fighter pilots. Romanticized as any soldier in history, the World War II fighter pilot is considered greater than life: a dashing spirit waging war among the clouds. In the more than 65 years since the Allied victory, stories of the heroism of these pilots have never been lacking. But what about their opponents – the highly skilled German pilots who pushed the Allies to the brink of defeat?
Of all the Luftwaffe ace warriors, the stories of Walter Krupinski, Adolf Galland, Eduard Neumann and Wolfgang Falck particularly shine. In The German Aces Speak, for the first time in any book, these four famous and influential Luftwaffe fighter pilots candidly reminisce about their service during the Second World War. Privately interviewed by author and military historian Colin Heaton, they bring to life the past as they tell stories of war, their battles, their lives, and perhaps most importantly, how they feel while serving under the Nazi leadership of Hermann Göring and Adolf Hitler.
The detail and story lines are awesome! I have new found respect for the German Air Force and am profoundly grateful that someone took the time to put these story on paper!
Narration is a bit overly pronounced but pretty good.
