The town of Stillwater has a very unwelcome resident.

The town of Stillwater is dead – the long and painful death of a town ravaged by floods and haunted by the ghosts of everyone who used to live there. However, this most recent flood has brought something with it – a creature that nests among the good people of Stillwater… and devours them. The children who have not disappeared whisper the same word – “vampire”. But they were wrong. What happened to Stillwater was far more terrible.

I used to say that the mark of a great story is when you’re sad to see it end and this boy is one of them. Hooray for creating a monster that is both unique and describes it in such detail that you can literally smell its breath.

I have listened to 2 books by Ronald Malfi and both are very good. Very scary… reminds me of Stephen King’s book Salem’s Lot, but also different. Completely different type of monster. I find the use of children in horror books always disturbing… but in a good way. It’s the scariest book I’ve heard in a long time. I recommend and I will buy more of his books!!!

Sounds interesting, new to Ronald Malfi’s books but I love them! It’s no shame that the narrator is one of my favorites! I really enjoyed this story. The narrator did a great job and I finished it in record time. I definitely recommend it.
